Good posture for working at a desk

Having worked in a corporate environment, I learned early on that good posture isn’t just a “nice to have” – it’s essential (unless you want a stiff neck or a sore back).

But posture is only part of the story. Here are a few simple desk habits that make a big difference over time:

Take regular breaks
Aim to take a break of 5 minutes each hour. Stand up, stretch, reset. Your body (and brain) will thank you.

Move a little, often
Even a short walk around the room helps. Think of it as micro-movement — small but powerful.

Keep your feet grounded
Feet flat on the floor = better posture and less strain on your back.

Relax your shoulders
If they’re creeping up towards your ears, it’s time to reset.

Keep your screen at eye level
No tilting your head down for hours. Your neck isn’t built like a crane.

Hydrate regularly
Water keeps you alert — and gives you a natural reason to get up more often.

Adjust your setup, not your body
Raise the screen, move the chair, tweak the mouse. Don’t adapt yourself to a bad setup.

Here at DeskSpace Coworking Mojacar we have a range of chairs to support you finding a set-up that works for you (including some standing desks)

Small changes. Big difference. Your future self will feel it. 💺✨
