On Tuesday 21st October we hosted our inaugural tech meet-up at DeskSpace in Mojácar — bringing together people to talk “tech”. Our first event was a great success! Scroll down for highlights and more photos.
The next Tech Meet up Mojácar is planned for November 2025.
We had ideas and prompts – but actually none of our prompts were needed as the conversation flowed. We covered Cyber security, AI, drone detection, and marketing.
It was a great mix of insights, discussion, and connection of course we asked what they thought of DeskSpace Coworking Mojacar.

There was a genuine buzz in the room and a clear appetite to do it again soon. Exciting to see a local tech community starting to take shape here in Mojácar.
Tech Meet Up in Mojácar!
We’re hosting a relaxed Tech Meet Up Mojácar. Our plan is that it’s a relaxed get-together for anyone interested in technology. This event might be for you not just if you work in IT. If you have a love of gadgets, are a “digital creative” or just enjoy chatting about the digital world – come along.
I’m not hardcore techie (though I have a history with Microsoft and my wife is ex-IBM ). We thought it would be fun to create an event where local tech-minded people can meet. Over time perhaps people will share ideas, and maybe it might just spark new collaborations. We both maintain an interest in many things “tech related”.
Our goal is to host one Tech Meet Up Mojácar event per month. We know this October date and time might not suit everyone. So we created a digital community for Mojacar on Facebook. Join the group, and start a conversation. On the Facebook group let us know what you’re interested in, and when we should host the November event.

Come along to the event, it’s free – and you’re welcome to stay and use our coworking space FOC for the remainder of the day. We have good WiFi. We’re still in a testing phase – and would really help us to ensure our processes can handle a larger number of people in the space.
Our experience is that you’re probably familiar with not just the concept but the practicalities of remote work – but we created a guide to coworking, stuffed full of hints and tips.
