A visit to Lunar Cable Park is an Active Day Trip from Mojácar
Are you looking for an energising break from your desk — or from the beach?
DeskSpace in Mojácar offers you calm sea views AND a productive work environment. But on windier days or when you’re craving movement, there’s a fantastic option just 30 minutes away at Lunar Cable Park in Cuevas del Almanzora.
Why Visit Lunar Cable Park?
This spot is perfect for a half-day or full-day adventure. While it’s best known for wakeboarding, there’s plenty more to enjoy. Between about May to September there are inflatables, Stand Up Paddle boards and Kayaks. Additionally, there’s walks and cycle rides. There’s also a strong skateboard community – and if you ask in the kiosk there is a training ramp. Whether you’re travelling solo, working remotely, or bringing along family and friends – we’ve found this to be a lovely day out.
Start with a Coffee
There’s an easygoing chiringuito on site serving good food and excellent coffee. It’s the ideal place to get your bearings, take in the view of the lake, and watch the wakeboarders in action.
Family-Friendly Fun on the Water
If you’re travelling with tweens, teens or young adults, the inflatable water park is a big hit. Note that children under 10 need to be accompanied by an adult.

There are also Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Boards and kayaks.
Try Wakeboarding — Even as a Beginner
You don’t need any experience to get started:
- 2.0 Line – A straight run ideal for private lessons or first-timers. A great way to get coaching without the pressure of a full loop.
- 5.0 Loop – A full circular cable system. Many start on kneeboards before progressing to stand-up boards. Falling off is part of the experience!
Take a look at Lunar Cable Park website – they have a section for beginners.
Walk the loop
If you’re not as keen on the water, there’s a 3 km concrete path around the lake — perfect for a walk or jog. Lunar Park also host a “Wings for Life” event which is suitable for wheelchairs – this is the loop that is used.
Dogs are welcome at Lunar Cable Park, making this a great option for pet owners too.
